GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's basketball team dropped a non-conference matchup with Iowa Wesleyan on Monday night.
 
The Tigers jumped out to an early 20-13 lead, but Knox took at 23-21 lead with 6:03 to play in the first half. Iowa Wesleyan responded quickly and took a 33-29 lead into intermission.
 
The Prairie Fire scored first in the second half to cut the deficit to two, but the Tigers rebounded and led by double digits three minutes into second half play. Iowa Wesleyan expanded their lead in the ensuing minutes, but Knox began to eat away at the lead and worked their way to within nine points with 5:40 left on the clock. The final minutes were back and forth, but the Prairie Fire could not make much headway and ended on the losing end.
 
Malcolm Bray led the Prairie Fire with 20 points and Jordan Rayner added 13 of his own. Ikenna Ozor pulled down a team high 10 boards. Blake Godbold nearly recorded a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.
 
Knox travels to Rockford on December 12, before a two-week layoff.
