RIPON, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team fell to Ripon 66-40 in the final game of the regular season.
Knox (16-8, 11-5) scored first in the game, but quickly fell behind and trailed 15-5 after the first quarter. The Red Hawks outscored the Prairie Fire 21-9 in the second quarter and led 36-14 at halftime.
Knox outscored Ripon 17-16 in the third quarter, but never made up much ground. The Red Hawks used a strong fourth quarter to put the game away.
Jarrelyn McCall led the Prairie Fire with 14 points on 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. Taliah Ellis poured in nine points and Kyra Huffman scored six points and grabbed six rebounds.
Knox will travel to Ripon again on February 23 for the Midwest Conference Tournament where they will face off against Cornell. The winner will then play the winner of Ripon and Lake Forest. More information will be forthcoming.
