GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a pair of conference games in the final day of the Midwest Conference Crossover on Sunday.

Knox (9-17, 2-9 MWC) gave up five runs in the first inning to St. Norbert in the morning game to fall behind early. The Green Knights added another run in the second inning to take a 6-0 lead and cruised to an 8-2 victory.

In game two, the Prairie Fire and Ripon engaged in a pitcher's duel for seven innings before the Red Hawks broke through with a pair in the top of the eighth. Knox responded with three runs in the bottom of the eighth, but Ripon scored five runs in the top of the ninth to secure the 7-3 win.

Dalton James led the Prairie Fire with three hits on the day. Paul Sanders, Kobe Shutter, and Brady Sember each added two hits. Sanders plated a pair against St. Norbert, while Shutter tallied the only RBI in the game against Ripon.

Knox will look to get back on track when they travel to Grinnell on April 28.
