APPLETON, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire softball team split a conference doubleheader with Lawrence on Thursday afternoon.

Knox (7-23, 2-12 MWC) broke a scoreless tie in game one with a two-run fourth inning. The Prairie Fire scored three more runs in the final two innings to earn a 5-2 victory.

Knox struck first again in game two with a four-run second inning, but the Vikings responded with two runs in the second and five more in the third to take a 7-5 lead. Lawrence put up runs in each of the next three innings to earn the 13-5 win.

Katy Coseglia picked up three hits in six at bats to lead the Prairie Fire. Clare Hensley, Casey Hipp, Emily Stevenson, and Valerie Froeming each added a pair of base knocks. Froeming tallied three RBI's on the day, including a solo home-run. Coseglia, Hipp, and Kenzie Funk each stroked a double.

Tegan Doherty picked up her seventh win of the season in the circle, only allowing five hits and one earned run. She struck out four Viking batters.

Knox will continue their road trip with a doubleheader against St. Norbert in Janesville, Wisconsin on April 28.
