SAINT PAUL, Minnesota—The Prairie Fire men's soccer team fell to #6 St. Thomas 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Knox (0-1-1) and the Tommies were scoreless through halftime, but St. Thomas broke through with a score early in the second half. With just over seven minutes left to play the Tommies added some insurance with a second goal and held on for the victory.
 
Shots were at a premium in the match as St. Thomas held the edge 5-3. The Tommies were very efficient with their shots as they put all five of their shots on goal. Fouls were fairly even between the teams, but the Prairie Fire's physical play got them six yellow cards on the day.

"I thought we showed some good things today. We hit the post multiple times and thought we looked dangerous, especially in the 2nd half," said head coach Brian O'Connor. "Ultimately, it was not enough.  St. Thomas punished us for our mistakes and proved why they are a top-10 team in the nation."
 
Knox returns to action on September 5 as they travel to another tough non-conference opponent in Illinois Wesleyan.
