MADISON, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire women's tennis team competed at the doubles portion of the Midwest Conference Individual Tournament on Saturday.
 
Number seven seeds Bhumika Gupta and Himani Patel won their opening matchup at #1 doubles 8-1 over Monmouth. The pair then fell to #2 Grinnell 1-8.
 
Grace Kostopoulos and Kathryn Allee dropped their first match at #2 doubles 1-8 to Illinois College. They then lost 1-8 in the consolation semifinals to Lawrence.
 
Laurel Stugart and Jamahra Richards fell 6-8 to Beloit in the opening match at #3 doubles. The pair then lost 2-8 in the consolation semifinals to Cornell.
 
"Very proud of the women today," said head coach Meredith Witherell. "Bhumika and Himani played a great match against Monmouth."
 
Knox returns to action for the singles portion of the MWC Individual Tournament tomorrow.
