GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's basketball team defeated North Park University 74-61 on Monday night.
Knox took an early 8-4 lead in the first half, but the Vikings soon took a 10-8 lead. Most of the first half was more back-and-forth, but the Prairie Fire took a 33-27 lead into halftime.
Knox expanded their lead to extra digits early in the second half. North Park used a 15-5 run to bring the game within seven, but the Prairie Fire took another double digit lead and held on for the victory.
Jordan Rayner led Knox with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting. He also dished out six assists. Zach Lowe added 19 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Ethan Meeker poured in 10 points and grabbed seven boards.
"Our defense is really starting to come together," said head coach Ben Davis. "We have worked very hard and we are starting to see the results. Jordan and Zach shot the ball really well tonight to lead the offense."
The Prairie Fire return to action as they travel to Dominican University on December 20.
