Men's Basketball Done in by IC's Strong Second Half

GALESBURG, Illinois—In one of the last games of the season for the Prairie Fire men's basketball team, they took on Illinois College at home.
 
As usual, Junior Justin Windt was a solid presence for the Prairie Fire. Windt scored the first four points for the Prairie Fire, and It was a back-and-forth affair early on. The Prairie Fire got a nice boost from Ikenna Ozor in his first game in a month. Ozor finished with seven points and a rebound.
 
The Blueboy lead was below double-digits for the majority of the first half, until a late run from Illinois College. A trey at the buzzer from Ozor cut the deficit to seven.
 
The Blueboy lead would only grow from there as Illinois College took control in the second half. Illinois College got hot from long-range as they shot 9-for-21 from beyond the arc and converted numerous layups through contact.
 
Standout players for the Prairie Fire were Windt and Jordan Rayner. Windt finished with 12 points and one rebound while Rayner finished with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Nine different players scored for the Prairie Fire in this game.
 
It was a tough game, but the Prairie Fire have a chance to finish on a strong not on Saturday when they play host to Ripon College.
