GRINNELL, Iowa - On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the Prairie softball team lost a doubleheader at Grinnell College.

The Pioneers started the scoring in game on when they plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. Grinnell added five more in the bottom of the third and three in the fourth to come away with a 10-0 victory.

The Pioneers struck first in game two when they scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second inning to take an early lead. Knox chipped away at the lead with a three-run third inning thanks to a two-RBI single by Kenzie Funk and an RBI single by Kylie Wolf. The Prairie Fire added four more runs in the fourth on a bases clearing double by Katy Coseglia and a single by Casey Hipp. Grinnell added three more runs and held Knox scoreless the remainder of the game to win 13-7.

Funk led the Prairie Fire with three hits on the day. Hipp also added a pair of hits.

Knox will return to action as they host Cornell on April 24 in their final home games of the year.
