Baseball Falls to Eureka at Home

GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Eureka on Monday afternoon.

The Red Devils took an early lead with a five-run first inning. Eureka added another run in the second, but Knox responded with two runs in the bottom half. The Red Devils added a run in the fifth and the Prairie Fire plated a run in the bottom of the sixth. Eureka put three more runs on the board in the top of the seventh and Knox could only manage one more run to fall 10-4.

Juston Woodard picked up three hits in four at bats to lead the Prairie Fire.  Connor Gwaltney also ripped three hits in the game. Dalton James and Hunter Drish each added two hits apiece. Woodard also knocked a triple and James bashed a double in the game.

"We did not show up to play today," said associate head coach James Clark. "We will get back to practice on Wednesday and shore up some things to get ready for Cornell."

The Prairie Fire return to action on April 27 when they travel to Cornell for the last conference series of the season.
