Women's Baskerball Drops Game at St. Norbert

Box Score DE PERE, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team fell to St. Norbert 69-63 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Green Knights and Knox played a hotly contested first quarter and the Prairie Fire came out ahead 12-9.
 
The second quarter was more of the same as the teams traded leads, but Knox headed into halftime up 26-23.
 
The Prairie Fire started out hot in the third period and took an 11 point lead, but the Green Knights fought back and trailed by just five heading into the final quarter.
 
St. Norbert continued their comeback attempt early in the fourth quarter and tied the score at 47-47. The teams traded leads once again, but St. Norbert held a three point advantage with 1:58 to play. A trey by Jarrelyn McCall tied the game and sent the teams into overtime.
 
A three-pointer by Jessica Lee gave the Prairie Fire an early lead in overtime, but the Green Knights swung the advantage to three on their side with six straight points. St. Norbert would maintain their lead the remainder of the game and walk away with the victory.
 
"We played another tough game," said head coach Emily Cline. "We held a lead late in the game, but could not quite get the victory."
 
Knox will return to action on January 21 as they host Lawrence.
