MONMOUTH, Illinois - The Prairie Fire football team dropped a conference game at Monmouth 38-7 on Saturday to conclude their season. The teams were playing in the 132nd Turkey Bowl.

The Fighting Scots scored the first touchdown of the game midway through the first quarter. They added a field goal and another touchdown in the second period to take a 17-0 lead into halftime.

Monmouth added two more scores in the third quarter and a final touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.

Knox scored with 1:42 left to play when quarterback Kaile Williams ran for a 6-yard touchdown.

Williams completed 6-of-15 passes for 85 yards. He also ran for 24 yards and the score.

Ean Rau racked up 17 total tackles to lead the Prairie Fire defense. Davis Brumbaugh added nine total tackles, while Kendall Ballman grabbed an interception. Lucas Cruz and Anthony Garcia each forced a fumble and Caleb DeJong picked up a sack.

"We improved on many facets of the game this season," said head coach Aaron Willits. "We still have work to do going forward, but I am proud of the steps forward we are taking. We have learned a lot this year and should have a great plan of attack in the coming seasons."
