APPLETON, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team fell to Lawrence 81-70 on Wednesday night. 

Jordan Rayner put Knox on the board first with a layup off the opening tip. After some back and forth, Cade Windham hit a three-pointer to put Knox up 8-5, but the Vikings began to pull away and soon led 21-16. Lawrence added to their lead and took a 43-32 advantage heading into halftime.

The Prairie Fire chipped away at the Viking lead in the second half and worked the game to within four points about midway through the half. Lawrence stopped the Knox comeback attempt and took another double digit lead to cruise to the 11 point victory.

Duane Goodman, Jr. led the Prairie Fire with 18 points. Rayner added 17 points and Raphael Jalnaiz chipped in 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting.

"We did some good things tonight, but had some lapses where we didn't execute on the defensive end which cost us against a really disciplined team like Lawrence," said head coach Ben Davis. "There were stretches that we played the way we needed to play, but it needs to be consistent for 40 minutes."

Knox returns to action as they travel to Ripon for another conference game on December 11.
