JACKSONVILLE, Illinois - The Prairie Fire softball team dropped a pair of conference games at Illinois College on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Blues scored four runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead in game one. Illinois College scored three in the second and four in the third to take game one 11-0 in five innings.
The Lady Blues plated a pair of runs in the second inning of the second game and pushed across another run in the third. Illinois College would add two more in the fourth and hold on for the 5-0 victory.
Kenzie Funk, Lacey Miller, and Maya McEwen each tallied a hit for the Prairie Fire on the day.
Mimi Schweitzer toed the rubber for Knox in game two and gave up three earned runs in six innings.
"IC is a very good team," said head coach Erin Rutledge. "I am again proud of our fight in game two, but we need to come with that same intensity in the first game as well."
The Prairie Fire return to action as they host Monmouth on May 2.
