Men's Soccer Ties at Beloit

BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team tied 2-2 with Beloit on Saturday to move to 1-1-1 in Midwest Conference play.

Alex White put Knox on the board early with a goal at the 2:10 mark in the first half. Adrian Segura assisted on the score.

Joel Sanchez added a goal in the 17th minute to give Knox the 2-0 edge in the early going.

The Buccaneers scored a goal in the 21st minute to cut into the Prairie Fire lead and then added another score in the 35th minute to send the game into halftime tied.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second half, despite 15 total shots between the teams.

Knox outshot Beloit 17-11 overall, including a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal.

"We came out very strong in this one," said head coach Kevwe Akpore. "Beloit battled back and we just couldn't get a shot to go in the net in the second half. We had our chances, but just couldn't finish."

Knox will return to action as they host Monmouth on October 5.
