Football Posts Shutout for Fourth Win of the Year

APPLETON, Wisconsin. - The Knox College Football team picked up their fourth win of the year against conference opponent Lawrence University on the road.

The first drive for both teams resulted in punts, however Cade Cosson was able to get a hand on the punt from Lawrence to give the offense a short field. The ensuing ten play drive took the ball thirty-nine yards and was capped off by a nine yard touchdown run by Quarterback Kaile Williams.

Lawrence was forced to punt again, and this time Kendall Ballman returned the kick thirty-eight yards, giving the offense another short field to work with. They capitalized and were able to score on a nineteen yard pass from Williams to Wide Receiver Tyrell Pierce.

Linebacker Ean Rau was able to intercept a pass from Lawrence on their next drive as well, setting up for one more score for the Prairie Fire before the end of the first half on a second Quarterback run by Williams.

The second half saw the Prairie Fire offense score on two more Quarterback runs by Williams, he had a total of five touchdowns in the game.

The Prairie Fire defense was able to get the ball out for two more turnovers in the second half as they posted a shutout victory, with a sack by Mahkai Conway being the exclamation point to end the game.

"It was a great win for our program to get us to win number four," said Head Coach Aaron Willits. "Our defense played great posting another shutout this year. Offense executed well, it was great to have our starting quarterback returning and healthy."

The Prairie Fire will be on the road playing at Cornell College next Saturday, November 5.
