MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team defeated Mount Mary 89-44 on Saturday afternoon.

Knox jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter and led 24-11 by the end of the period. 

The Prairie Fire quickly built up a 20 point lead early in the second quarter and earned a 47-21 advantage by halftime.

Knox soon took a 30 point lead in the second half and continued their dominance with a 75-32 lead after three quarters.

The Prairie Fire maintained their 40 point lead by outscoring the Blue Angels 14-12 in the final period to cruise to victory.

Sarina Dacio led Knox with 21 points thanks to a 5-for-10 performance from long-range. Kristin Herndon added 13 points and Catessa Duran hauled in 11 rebounds.

"We played well from beginning to end today," said head coach Kira Mowen. "It was great to get most of our team involved today with some very solid performances off the bench."

The Prairie Fire return to action on January 3 as they host Lake Forest in a return to Midwest Conference action.
