Baseball Drops a Pair Against Ripon

GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a conference double header against Ripon on Saturday afternoon.

The Redhawks scored in every inning of game one to come away with an 18-6 victory in seven innings.

Knox took an 8-3 lead in the fourth inning of game two, but Ripon scored eight unanswered runs to win 11-8.

Jason Clark ripped five hits to lead the Prairie Fire. He hit a home-run and three doubles. Matt Shover homered twice in game two and Brayden Bathgate also homered. Ben Bucher tallied four hits on the day.

"We had some very good things in both games, but really should have won the second game," said associate head baseball coach James Clark. "I thought Brandon Ward and Caleb Hay took big steps forward on the mound today, even though the results didn't show it yet. We definitely improved at the plate, but still have thigns to work on. We will get back to work."

The Prairie Fire return to action tomorrow as they host Ripon for the final game of the series.
