APPLETON, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Lawrence on Sunday afternoon.

Nick Henning threw a gem in game one for Knox, allowing just two earned runs in six innings. Reliever Jake Ripple allowed two runs, one earned in his two innings of work. The Prairie Fire failed to score and lost 4-0. 

Knox took an early 2-0 lead in game two, but a three-run homer by Lawrence gave the Vikings a 4-2 lead after three innings. Lawrence tacked on a run in each of the next two innings to take a 6-2 lead. The Prairie Fire scored a run in the seventh, but the Vikings responded with three runs in the bottom half. Knox had a four run rally in the ninth, but came up just short and lost 9-7.

Braden Ogden and Evan Laws each tallied three hits for the Prairie Fire. Ogden hit a home-run and drove in four runs.

"We played better today," said associate head coach James Clark. "We really came on strong at the end of game two and had a chance to take the lead late."

Knox returns to action as they travel to Augustana on May 3.
