GRINNELL, Iowa - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team dropped a conference game 1-0 at Grinnell on Tuesday afternoon. Knox moves to 1-1 in Midwest Conference play.
The teams played to a scoreless tie through the first half, but the Pioneers found the back of the net early in the second half to take a 1-0 lead.
Knox had some chances in the second half with five corner kicks, but only managed one shot on goal in the half.
Grinnell outshot the Prairie Fire 12-10 overall, including a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Knox goalkeeper Nicolas Lantzendorffer tallied five saves on the day.
"Grinnell is always tough on the road," said head coach Kevwe Akpore. "We executed our game plan well in the first half, but Grinnell adjusted in the second half and we didn't."
Knox returns to action on October 1 as they travel to Beloit.
