GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Alex White put Knox on the board in the second minute of the game on an assist from Christian Telles.
The Prairie Fire defense hunkered down the rest of the game and goalkeeper Nicolas Lantzendorffer grabbed a save on the only shot on goal he faced.
The Warhawks edged Knox 8-7 in total shots, but the Prairie Fire fired off three shots on goal.
"We played well from the beginning to the end today," said head coach Kevwe Akpore. "We played a complete game today for the first time this season. This is what we are capable of when we put it all together."
Knox returns to action as they travel to Simpson on September 6 for their first road game of the year.
