GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team will recognize Keisha Davis for their Superfan Award at their game on Saturday. Keisha is a food service worker in dining services for Knox. Each Prairie Fire athletic team is selecting a different Knox College Faculty or Staff member to celebrate as having a significant impact on their team and the Athletic Department.
The men's soccer team voted to share their appreciation of Keisha for always being there for the team and always supporting and cheering on the players after every game. She is always up to date with game results and attends as many games as she can. Keisha does not hesitate to go out of her way to hug the players and congratulate them whether it is win or loss. She truly wants the best for the players and embodies what Knox College is all about.
"Ms. Davis can always be seen cheering us on at games or greeting the team at the cafeteria with a smile; especially after a tough loss," said senior goalkeeper Nicolas Lantzendorffer. "She's always in the lunchroom making everyone smile and telling everyone to have a good day. She can be counted on to remind all that we are not playing just for ourselves."
"Keisha is certainly a very nice person," added head coach Kevwe Akpore. "She has impacted student-athletes by always supporting them and encouraging them to lift up themselves when they are down. She is a true definition of what the Knox community represents."
