ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to Augustana 83-60 on Saturday night.
Knox held an early 5-4 lead, but the Vikings used a 20-3 run to take a 16 point lead. Augustana took a 49-21 lead into halftime.
The Vikings expanded their lead early in the second half. The Prairie Fire slowly chipped away at the lead, but came up short.
Andrew Milot led Knox with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Anthony Davis added nine point, including a perfect 4-for-4 showing from the charity stripe. Chikere Nwosu and Cole Andrews chipped in seven points apiece.
"Augustana came in with an excellent game plan and executed very well," said head coach Ben Davis. "We could not quite get it going on either end, but we did improve on the offensive end in the second half."
The Prairie Fire will return to action on November 15 when they travel to Blackburn.
