Men's Basketball Outlasts Greenville

GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team picked up a 114-105 victory over Greenville on Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers scored first and held a 5-4 lead just under a minute into the game. Knox used a 15-4 run to take a double-digit lead. The Prairie Fire continued to pull away and held a 62-47 at halftime.

Knox maintained their lead throughout the second half, leading by as many as 19 points. Greenville chipped away at the lead all half and brought the game to within eight points in the last minute of the game. The Prairie Fire hit five free throws in the last minute to secure the win.

Andrew Milot and Sean Gallery paced Knox with 18 points apiece. Milot added eight assists and Gallery tallied eight rebounds and six assists. Cole Andrews picked up a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards. Chikere Nwosu poured in 14 points and Aidan Derry chipped in 12 points to give all five starters double-digits. Sean O'Neal tacked on 10 points.

"This was a great test for us with Grinnell coming up this week," said head coach Ben Davis. "We did a great job of attacking the press all game and controlled the game for most of the first and second halves. We got in foul trouble a bit in the second half and allowed them back in the game, but our defense stood strong at the end."

The Prairie Fire will return to action on November 28 as they host Grinnell to begin conference play.
