APPLETON, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team earned a 72-58 win over Lawrence on Wednesday afternoon.
Knox jumped out to a 14-2 lead early in the first half to take control of the game early. The Prairie Fire maintained a double digit lead for the rest of the half. Knox led by 20 points at halftime.
The Prairie Fire took a 50-25 lead in the first few minutes of the second half, but the Vikings began chipping away at the lead. Lawrence brought the game to within 14 points with 12:45 to play, but Knox rallied soon after. The Vikings could not come any closer than 14 points down the rest of the game and the Prairie Fire claimed victory.
Andrew Milot led all scorers with 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Sean Gallery added 15 points and seven rebounds. Sean O'Neal scored 11 points and hauled in nine boards. Chikere Nwosu tacked on 10 points.
"Anytime you can pick up a win on the road in the Midwest Conference, it's a good day," said head coach Ben Davis. "We executed really well on both sides of the ball to build a nice first half lead. We had some lapses in the second half which allowed them to stick around. We'll need to clean up some of those things, but this team has been making progress every week and we have a good test coming up this Saturday against Ripon."
Knox will return to action on December 9 as they host Ripon in their final conference matchup until January.
