DAVENPORT, Florida - The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a 4-3 game to SUNY Canton in extra innings to open up their spring break trip.
The Kangaroos struck first with a solo home-run in the fourth innings. Canton added two more unearned runs in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead.
Jason Clark plated a run in the sixth to put Knox on the board. Braden Ogden followed with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to one.
Evan Laws hit a deep fly ball to left in the ninth to score Clark for the tying run and force extra innings.
Knox put the go ahead run on second base in the 10th inning, but couldn't bring it in. The Kangaroos walked it off in the bottom of the 10th.
Brandon Ward gave up four hits and an earned run in six innings of work. He struck out 9 batters.
Andrew Garrett led the Prairie Fire with two hits and two stolen bases.
"We battled until the very end and had some great pitching today," said associate head coach James Clark. "We just couldn't quite get it done on offense. We need to get better in situational hitting and put the ball in play more."
Knox returns to action on March 15 as they play Lakeland in a doubleheader.
