GALESBURG, IL - Men's soccer defeated Simpson College 4-2 Saturday afternoon.
The first half ended with a 0-0 score, but Simpson came out quick with a goal in the first five minutes of the second half.
Christian Telles scored for the Prairie Fire in the 58th minute evening the score 1-1. Adrian Segura quickly added another less than a minute later, giving the Fire a 2-1 lead.
Telles scored again in the 75th minute. Simpson responded with a goal shortly after. Knox led 3-2 with just about ten minutes remaining. Segura put one more on the board for the Fire in the 83rd minute.
"Today was a very good game, and I am very excited about how we played today" said Head Coach Kevwe Akpore. "We had a lot of energy today and it allowed us to be able to quickly take the lead and keep it in the second half."
The Prairie Fire will return to action September 19th for a home match against Illinois Wesleyan University.
