NORTHFIELD, Minnesota - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team lost to No. 14 St. Olaf 7-0 on Sunday in their second contest against a ranked team to begin the season.
The Oles scored in the 13th minute for an early lead. St. Olaf added two more goals in the first half to head into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
In the second half, the Oles scored two more quick goals in the first 10 minutes and then tacked on two more goals in the final 10 minutes.
Nicolas Lantzendorffer tallied eight saves in goal for Knox.
"We knew these first two games would be a tough test," said head coach Kevwe Akpore. "We played pretty well in our first game and took a bit of a step back today. We have a good idea of what we need to work on and I am confident that we can bounce back in our upcoming games."
The Prairie Fire return to action on September 6 as they host Augustana for their home opener.
