Men's Soccer Takes Down Blackburn

GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team picked up a 3-0 win over Blackburn on Friday afternoon.

Arito Nakamichi broke up the scoreless tie just under 15 minutes into the game to give Knox the early lead. He scored again on a penalty kick in the 38th minute to send the Prairie Fire into halftime with a two goal advantage.

Adrian Segura found Juan Perez Mejia in the second half for the last goal of the game for Knox.

The Prairie Fire outshot the Beavers 19-4 overall, including a 4-0 advantage in shots on goal.

"We didn't play our best soccer today, but still did enough good things to win the game," said head coach Kevwe Akpore. "We have a tough game coming up this weekend, so we will need to get back to work to shore up our mistakes."

Knox will return to action as they host Wartburg on September 10.
