JACKSONVILLE, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team fell to Illinois College 63-51 on Wednesday night to snap their seven game winning streak.
The Blueboys jumped out to a 14-6 lead, but Knox kept pace for most of the first half and trailed just 31-27 at halftime.
Illinois College took a 47-34 lead early in the second half, but Knox chipped away at the lead and trailed by seven with 1:37 to play. The Blueboys hit a jumper and all four free throws in the final minutes to come away with the victory.
Sean O'Neal led Knox with 12 points thanks to a 3-for-4 performance from the field. Cole Andrews just missed a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds.
"IC is a very good team and we hung with them despite not having a great shooting night," said head coach Ben Davis. "I think we'll have a great chance to bounce back against them when we play them at home in just over a month."
Knox returns to action on January 13 as they host Beloit.
