GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team dropped a Midwest Conference matchup to Lawrence at home on Wednesday night.
The Vikings jumped out to a 14-4 lead early in the first half. Knox chipped away at the lead to trail just 32-29 at the half.
The Prairie Fire started hot in the second half, taking a 39-36 lead. After some back and forth, Lawrence took a 55-47 lead with 8:26 to play. Knox pulled within five with 3:55 remaining, but the Vikings built up a double digit lead shortly after and earned the victory.
Andrew Milot led the Prairie Fire with 24 points and five assists. Sean Gallery added 16 points and seven rebounds. Aidan Derry racked up nine boards.
"This was another tough loss for us," said head coach Ben Davis. "We are talented enough to win these games and now we just need to go do it. Plenty of season left, we will focus on finishing strong."
Knox will return to action on February 3 as they travel to Ripon.
