GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team dropped a Midwest Conference game to Illinois College 91-76 on Wednesday night.
The Lady Blues jumped out to an 8-0 lead early in the first quarter and led 27-10 after one period.
Knox held steady in the second quarter, tying the quarter 20-20 and trailing by 17 heading into halftime.
The Prairie Fire chipped away at the lead by outscoring Illinois College 23-18 in the third quarter.
Knox continued their comeback in the fourth, coming within six points with 2:57 to play. The Lady Blues finished on a 9-0 run to claim the victory.
Nyah Daniels scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Prairie Fire. Kylee Callahan added 14 points, eight boards, and six assists. Loraya Rocha and Sarina Dacio tallied 11 points and six rebounds apiece.
"IC hit everything in the first quarter and put us down early," said head coach Seth McDowell. "We had a great effort to put ourselves back in the game late, but we came up just short."
Knox will return to action as they host Cornell on February 17 for Senior Day.
