GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team secured a 50-44 win over Cornell College on Saturday afternoon for senior day and also the final game of their season. Before the game, Knox honored seniors Isaiah Cole-Jones, Andrew Brown, Cade Windham, and Alexander Baackes. 

The Prairie Fire jumped out ahead quickly with the help of a 15-0 run, leading the Rams 18-2 with just over 10 minutes left to play in the first half. Cornell began to slowly chip away at the Prairie Fire's lead, but Knox stayed ahead leading 29-18 going into half-time. 

Knox attempted to maintain their lead, while Cornell attempted to close the gap. The Prairie Fire managed to keep their lead over the Rams for the entirety of the second half, securing their final win for the '23-'24 season.

Sean Gallery led the Prairie Fire with 11 points. Windham recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

"We started today off really strong, and I think that paid off for us and set us up for success in the end" said Head Coach Ben Davis. "All in all, I am super happy we got to end our season with a win, and especially happy we got to do so on senior day."

The Prairie Fire concluded their season with a 13-12 overall record.
