DAVENPORT, Florida - The Prairie Fire baseball team opened Midwest Conference play with a 13-0 loss to Lawrence on Friday.
The Vikings jumped on the board for six run in the bottom of the first to take an early lead.
Lawrence added a run in the third and two in the fourth. They broke through for four more in the sixth to earn the early victory.
Evan Laws and Thomas Wilmot each tallied a hit for Knox.
"Lawrence came out swinging it in the first inning to put us in an early hole," said associate head coach James Clark. "We had times where we had good at bats and hit the ball hard right at people, but also times where we lost focus. We have a good chance to bounce back strong tomorrow."
The Prairie Fire battle Lawrence on March 23 with a doubleheader to finish the series.
