GALESBURG, Ill. — Knox College baseball head coach Jami Isaacson announced the 39-game schedule today for his Prairie Fire team this spring, featuring three contests just outside of St. Louis to open the season, a seven-game trip in Florida and the 21-game Midwest Conference slate that begins at the end of March.

Knox will open the spring on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Fontbonne University, first with a game against the host Griffins followed by two showdowns with Illinois Wesleyan, one right after playing Fontbonne and the other the next day.

Following doubleheaders at Eureka College and Anderson University in early March, the Prairie Fire head south to Florida for seven games against seven different opponents at the RussMatt Invitational. The first of seven games in the Sunshine State will be against Salem State on March 18 in Auburndale, and the final contest will pit Knox against another Illinois school in Elmhurst University on March 24.

The local fans will get their first look at Knox on March 28 when Maranatha Baptist comes to Blodgett Field for a doubleheader. Midwest Conference play will begin the next day with Ripon College in town for three games. Every conference team will play at least once in Galesburg, except for Monmouth with all three games to take place at the Scots' Glasgow Field on April 12-13.

The conference schedule consists of three games against each of the other seven schools in the league, concluding on May 3-4 against Grinnell College with the doubleheader at Grinnell and the finale on the fourth at Blodgett Field. Should the Prairie Fire finish among the top four in the standings, they would compete in the double-elimination Midwest Conference Tournament at the site of the regular-season champion May 9-10.
