GALESBURG, Ill. — Knox College Head Softball Coach Casey Hipp today announced the hiring of Ruby Davis as her assistant coach for the 2025 season. Davis joins the Prairie Fire after spending the fall as the graduate assistant coach at Delta State University in Mississippi.

As the graduate assistant at Delta State, Davis managed team practices in the fall, helped with game-day operations, attended recruiting events, coordinated lodging for the spring season and managed the team's social media accounts.

A 2024 graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Missouri with a degree in exercise science, Davis was a three-year letter winner for the Bearcats, playing catcher, the corner infield positions and right field as well. The team improved by 11 wins during her three years on the squad.

Davis is currently pursuing her master's degree in strength and conditioning from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri.
