GRINNELL, Iowa — The Midwest Conference office announced its Performers of the Week in men's soccer this afternoon, and Knox College junior Tomás Ramos was the recipient of the offensive award thanks to his role in the Prairie Fire's 4-0 victory over Lawrence University on Saturday.
A forward from Santiago do Cacem, Portugal, Ramos had a hand in each one of Knox's goals in the win over the Vikings. After the two teams played to a scoreless draw in the first half, Ramos got the scoring started by finishing off a beautiful sequence of passes early in the second half. With little more than 15 minutes to play, he struck again when the diving Viking keeper cold not control a cross, and Ramos easily put it in the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. Ramos helped add on to the lead with a pair of corner kicks that were headed into the goal by sophomore teammate Ethan Thomas.
Ramos is one of just six Midwest Conference players to produce six points in a game this fall, and one of just three to do so in a league match. And the four goals were the most in a game for Knox in almost exactly one year (5-2 win over Monmouth on Oct. 23, 2024).
- Ramos is the first Prairie Fire player to have a hand (or foot) in four goals in a game since Alex White scored three and assisted on another in a 4-2 win over Monmouth on Oct. 5, 2022.
- The last Knox player to earn a Performer of the Week award from the league office was Kestervens Dera last Oct. 28.

Knox has one regular-season game remaining this fall against Grinnell College (4-6-5, 3-1-2 MWC) at Jorge Prats Field on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. The Pioneers still have a showdown with undefeated Lake Forest on their docket this Saturday.
