Noah Campbell, Knox College men's basketball team provided plenty of fireworks on the final day of 2025, but unfortunately for the Prairie Fire, Millikin proved to be a bit more explosive.
On New Year's Eve, Knox (5-7) fell to the Big Blue (10-2), 92-80.
Campbell had a big night for Knox, scoring a career-high 30 points in 26 minutes. The Prairie Fire shot well, going 32-58 (55.2 percent) from the field. However, Millikin beat the home team by getting to the free throw line (19-33) and connecting from deep (11-23 from three).
Russell Wright (11 points) and
Josh Stewart also scored in double figures. Stewart led Knox with seven assists and grabbed five rebounds.Â
The Prairie Fire opened strong, jumping to a 12-3 lead. Millikin responded, chipping away at the deficit to trail just 40-37 at halftime.
In the second half, Prairie Fire kept shooting well, making 17 of 28 (60.7 percent). However, the Big Blue's ability to force 22 Knox turnovers and get to the line (13-24) proved decisive.
Knox visits Lake Forest for MWC play this weekend, tipping off at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3.
