GALESBURG, IL - Knox took on Lawrence on a hot fall day at Jorge Prats Field, and the Vikings high powered offense took care of the Prairie Fire.
The Vikings got out to a hot start as they tallied four goals in the first half.
Knox had to battle through adversity as they had a shortened bench and took some battle scars throughout the contest. The heat also played a factor in the contest as Knox was unable to make as many substitutions as they usually do.
The Prairie Fire were able to get on the scoreboard in the 65th minute when Lily Cuddy put a shot in the back of the net following a corner kick.
Bri Mahoney made four saves after coming in after the halftime break.
Lawrence was able to take home a 6-1 victory over the Prairie Fire in the Midwest Conference matchup.
Plenty of Prairie Fire saw extended minutes in the contest, but they will be able to catch a short break before Knox returns to the pitch Wednesday night to take on Alverno at 5:30 p.m. at Jorge Prats Field in a non-conference matchup.
