EDINBURGH, IN - The Knox Prairie Fire women's golf squad is set to compete in day three of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship for the first time since 2021.
Â
Alexys Davis has been pacing the Prairie Fire during the event as she is tied for 30th going into the final 18 holes. Her second round saw a pair of pars drop into the hole on seven and fourteen.
Â
Ella Suchomel has been right behind Davis throughout the first two days of the event. The par three hole 11 has been kind to her as she has picked up a par and a bogey there at Timbergate Golf Course.
Â
Taylor Snyder and Khizran Fatima have played behind Suchomel as they round out Knox's field at 46th and 48th, respectively.
Â
Day three is set to be an exciting one for the Prairie Fire as three of the four competitors have improved on each of their rounds from day one to day two.
Â
The Prairie Fire sit just one stroke behind the Blackburn Beavers heading into the final round. While Knox has improved from round-to-round, the Beavers have done the opposite. Knox saw a 13 stroke bump in their score from day one to day two, but Blackburn's score decreased by six, giving the Prairie Fire plenty to strive for in the final round.
