MONMOUTH – The Knox College men played league-leading Monmouth tough on Wednesday night, but fell 82-68 to the Fighting Scots.
The Prairie Fire (9-13, 5-8) were able to make shots, shooting over 50 percent (30-57; 52.6 percent), but Monmouth's ability to get to the free-throw line was the difference as Monmouth hit 18-22 free throws to Knox's 4-8.
Noah Campbell led Knox with 18 points while Russell Wright added 16. Josh Stewart scored for the Prairie Fire.
Knox did the bulk of its work inside, scoring 50 points in the paint. The Prairie Fire are next in action on Saturday, playing the home finale against Ripon. The game starts at 1 p.m.
