The Prairie Fire baseball team suffered a 21-1 defeat to Augustana on Thursday in seven innings. Despite this setback, Knox looks to rebound this weekend with a three-game series against Illinois College, starting Saturday with a doubleheader in Jacksonville. The Prairie Fire will then conclude their home schedule next Wednesday against Eureka.
In Thursday's game, Augustana struck early and often, scoring in every inning, including a five-run first.
Knox's only run came in the seventh, when Luke Mathieu took a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to drive in Andrew Garrett.
