Peyton Doughty enters his third season as the running backs coach for the Knox College.

Under Doughty's guidance, the 2024 Prairie Fire finished second in rushing in the Midwest Conference and the top 30 nationally at nearly 200 yards per game. Sophomore Taylor McAdams emerged as Knox’s top runner, ranking fifth in the league at 63.1 yards per game and scoring six touchdowns. His 5.4 yards per carry were the second most among qualified MWC players.

Doughty graduated from Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois, in the fall of 2022, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management. A running back for the Red Devils football team for five years, he ran for 306 yards and one touchdown (which he scored against Knox) as a first-year on the 2018 squad that won the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Championship. That team was also inducted into the Eureka Athletics Hall of Fame in October 2024.

Doughty is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio.
