Travis Muntz was hired as assistant women's basketball coach for the Prairie Fire in the fall of 2021.
 
Muntz has lots of experience working at various levels of basketball during his career.  He comes to Knox from Nebraska Wesleyan, where he spent the last two years.

Prior to NWU, Muntz spent four seasons as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Jamestown Community College in New York.  While working at Jamestown C.C., he also spent the 2016-17 working as a volunteer assistant with the women’s team at St. Bonaventure University.
 
During the 2015-16 season Muntz served as a student assistant with the women’s basketball team at the University of Buffalo. He also worked as an assistant boy's basketball coach at Frewsburg Central High School in New York.
 
From 2005-10, Muntz was at West Virginia University working with the men’s and women’s basketball programs.  He served for two years under John Beilein at WVU as a manager with the men’s program.  For three years he was a practice player helping the Mountaineer women’s team.
 
The Jamestown, New York native spent one year in South Korea teaching English to children from age 5-16.
 
Muntz earned his bachelor’s degree in history from West Virginia in 2010.  He also completed his master’s degree in sport management from California University (Pa.).
