The women's soccer team knew it would be a big challenge going up against Carroll University, the top team in the Midwest Conference, on the Pioneers' home field - then traveling the next day for another league contest at Ripon College.  A possible split against the Wisconsin schools was dashed when Knox dropped both matches.

Carroll entered the match against Knox on a roll: undefeated in MWC play and the winner of five in a row.  Knox, meanwhile, was trying to avoid a second straight loss.

The Pioneers got the better of the Prairie Fire, scoring two goals in the first 90 minutes and three more in the second stanza to win 5-0.

Carroll (10-3, 6-0 MWC) held Knox to three shots on goal and four overall.  The Pioneers got off 32 shots, 20 of which were on goal.  First-year goalie Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, Minnesota) had 15 saves for Knox.
