GALESBURG, Ill. - The Prairie Fire celebrated the careers of seniors Emily Jacobs, Emma Sineath, and Vero Hernandez on Saturday afternoon, recognizing three student-athletes who have made lasting contributions to the program. The celebration was highlighted by family, teammates, and supporters before Knox turned in one of its strongest performances of the season despite a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Monmouth at Jorge Prats Field.

Knox controlled much of the match from start to finish, out shooting Monmouth 14-3 and holding an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Prairie Fire created scoring opportunities throughout the afternoon while limiting the Fighting Scots to just three total shots.

The match remained scoreless for nearly 80 minutes as the Prairie Fire continued to pressure the Monmouth goal. Ming led Knox with four shots, while Rossi, Ellie Henderson, Reagan Toney, and Sophia Fallacara helped generate a steady stream of opportunities.

Monmouth broke through in the 80th minute when Mariah Hobson scored on one of the visitors' few chances of the afternoon, providing the game's lone goal. Knox continued to push forward in search of an equalizer, but the Prairie Fire were unable to find the breakthrough they deserved.

Defensively, Knox was equally impressive. Goalkeeper Bri Mahoney and a back line anchored by seniors Emily Jacobs and Emma Sineath limited Monmouth to just two shots on goal and one corner kick over 90 minutes. Jacobs, Sineath, and Hernandez were recognized before the match for their leadership, commitment, and impact on the Prairie Fire program.

While the result was not the storybook ending the seniors deserved, the afternoon served as a meaningful celebration of three student-athletes whose contributions have helped shape Knox women's soccer and whose impact will continue to be felt long after their final season.
