The Prairie Fire found out that Franklin College can flat out score.

The Grizzlies beat Knox College 6-1 Saturday in Galesburg, the second straight win for the visitors and the third straight loss for the Prairie Fire to open the season.

Franklin (2-0-1) took a 1-0 lead after 45 minutes of play after Grant Krevda scored in the 28th minute.  The Grizzlies outshot the Prairie Fire (0-3) 8-2 in the first half and 21-5 overall.

Franklin scored 25 seconds after the break, a head shot by Mitchell Waldroup, then added a third score at the 59:15 mark by Craig Wood before Knox would get on the board.  Nicolas Osuna (Bonita, California/Bona Vista) prevented a shutout by scoring at the 60:26 mark, his first goal of the season to get Knox within 3-1.

Franklin, however, would add three more goals in a span of 25 minutes to put the match away.  It was the second straight match the Grizzlies scored six times.  Franklin defeated Eureka 6-0 the previous day.

Knox tries again for its first win of the season Wednesday night at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.  The Eagles were also winless as of September 6 after falling to Moody Institute (3-0) on September 1 in Chicago and at Lesley University (1-0) on September 4 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
