A goal early in the match proved to be the difference as the Prairie Fire defeated Illinois College 1-0 Wednesday afternoon at Jorge Prats Field.

Junior Arielle Dorman (Bothell, WA) scored her 12th goal of the season at the 3:53 mark off a corner kick by fellow junior Sam Thomas (Algonquin, IL) as Knox (3-11-1, 1-5-1 MWC) earned its first Midwest Conference match of the season.

IC (4-9-4, 0-5-3 MWC) remains winless in league play.

The Prairie Fire defense held strong the entire match.  The Lady Blues outshot the Fire 22-4 overall and 12-2 on goal.

Senior Emily Turner (Kildeer, IL) and sophomore Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, MN) teamed up in goal to shut out IC.  Turner had two saves and Koene recorded 10.
