Carroll University scored three goals in each half for a 6-0 victory in the first Midwest Conference match for both schools Saturday in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
The loss is the fourth straight for the Prairie Fire (2-5, 0-1 MWC). Knox has suffered back-to-back shutouts and three in the last four matches.
The Pioneers (2-4, 1-0 MWC) got on the board 17:22 into the match on an unassisted goal by Julia Schmitz.
Carroll's Sarah Tennant scored the first of her three goals in the match at the 24:43 mark to give her team a 2-0 lead. She scored again at 33:17 for a 3-0 Pioneer lead at the intermission.
Following a score by Sam Garvin at 46:20, Tennant found the back of the net for the third time 62:14 into the match for a 5-0 lead. Kara Delie, who also had a big day, connected for the final score of the afternoon at the 65:31 mark.
Along with her goal, Delie had three assists.
Carroll outshot the Prairie Fire 33-2 overall and 21-2 on goal. Both of the Knox shots on goal were by junior Arielle Dorman (Bothell, Washington).
Sophomore Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, Minnesota) had 15 saves in her first start in goal this season for Knox.
The match was called at the 72:30 mark because of bad weather.
The Prairie Fire tries to get back on track Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in a non-conference match at Elmhurst College (6-1).
