Volleyball Team Falls at St. Norbert College

The Prairie Fire lost to the Green Knights 3-0 in a Midwest Conference match in DePere, Wisconsin.

The Prairie Fire came up short in the first of two matches in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area, losing 3-0 Friday night at St. Norbert College.

The contest was the Midwest Conference opener for the Green Knights (13-4, 1-0 MWC), who have won 10 straight.  Eight of the 10 victories dating back to September 10, the last time SNC lost, have been 3-0 sweeps.

St. Norbert won the first set 25-13.  The Prairie Fire (0-17, 0-3 MWC) stayed with the highly touted Knights in the second match before losing 25-19.  St. Norbert completed the sweep with a 25-13 victory in the third set.

Sophomore Kaylie Prince (Westminster, Colorado) had five kills for Knox.  Junior Kristin McDonald (Chicago, Illinois) added four kills and assisted on two blocks.  Senior Lisa Blagg (Winthrop Harbor, Illinois) had team-highs of eight digs and 10 assists.

The Prairie Fire takes on Lawrence University (9-9, 2-0 MWC) Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Appleton, Wisconsin.  The Vikings have won five of their last six matches, including conference victories against Carroll University and Grinnell College.

Knox returns home October 7 for a match against Carroll that begins at 1:00 p.m.
